Injury potential of herbicide combinations on XtendFlex® cotton

چکیده

Abstract XtendFlex® technology from Bayer allows growers to apply glyphosate, glufosinate, and dicamba POST cotton. Since the evolution spread of glyphosate-resistant weed species, early applications with several modes action have become common. However, crop injury potential these warrants further examination. Field studies were conducted 2015 2017 at two locations in Mississippi evaluate cotton herbicide application. Herbicide made three- six-leaf stage combinations composed two-, three-, four-way S -metolachlor, three formulations dicamba. Data collection included visual estimations injury, stand counts, height, total mainstem nodes, nodes above whiteflower first bloom. end season cracked boll. Visual highest 3 d following containing glufosinate + -metolachlor (36% 41% injury) combination glyphosate (39% injury), regardless formulation. Crop decreased each rating interval dissipated by 28 (P = 0.3748). Height reductions present bloom < 0.0001), although yield was unaffected 0.2089), even when after application greater than 30%. Results indicate that may a variety tank mixtures expect no penalty. Furthermore, if are concerned applications, use should be approached caution

The clastogenic potential of triazine herbicide combinations found in potable water supplies.

Pesticide contamination of drinking water supplies has increased over the past decade. A major concern is how exposure to combinations of low levels of pesticides, especially herbicides, could affect public health. Flow cytometric analysis was performed to determine the clastogenic potential of herbicide interaction on Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells. The cells were exposed to atrazine, simaz...

Potential for Remote Sensing to Detect and Predict Herbicide Injury on Waterhyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes)

Many large-scale management programs directed toward the control of waterhyacinth rely on maintenance management with herbicides. Improving the implementation of these programs could be achieved through accurately detecting herbicide injury in order to evaluate efficacy. Mesocosm studies were conducted in the fall and summer of 2006 and 2007 at the R. R. Foil Plant Science Research Center, Miss...

Potential Environmental Impacts of Herbicide-Resistant Crops

68 Abstract Transgenic bromoxynil-, glufosinate-, and glyphosate-resistant crops have been commercialized and grown extensively in the Western Hemisphere and, to a lesser extent, elsewhere. Bromoxynil-resistant crops have been removed from the market. Few new herbicide-resistant crops (HRCs) are likely to be introduced in the near future. Glyphosate-resistant cotton and soybean have become domi...

Acute gastroduodenal injury after ingestion of diluted herbicide pendimethalin.

The herbicide, pendimethalin, is used worldwide, but its acute toxicity is not yet widely known. There have been some reported acute pendimethalin poisoning cases in humans and most of them intentionally ingested the concentrated formulation. We describe a 73-year-old man who developed corrosive gastroduodenal injury after accidental ingestion of the diluted (300 times with water) pendimethalin...
